With the family’s permission – we’d love to share this story with you.
Ashleigh contacted me with the devastating news that her Granddad, Peter had terminal cancer, and they’d love to get some photos of him and their sweet Granny, Gwen together. Their 60th wedding anniversary was around the corner, so Peter decided to surprise his wife with a beautiful ring, and renew their wedding vows at her favourite beach just out of Albany, Cosy Corner. Gwen has a very strong connection with the beach, spending a lot of her childhood out there.
With the help of Ashleigh, and an amazing community of generous wedding vendors, we organised a few surprises throughout the day for Gwen & Peter. Rose & Bud created a bouquet of Gwen’s favourite flowers, and with Peter being a fan of vintage cars, Albany Wedding Cars rolled up on their front lawn to surprise them in a 1955 Mark 7 Jaguar (60 years old – to mark their anniversary) and drove them out to Cosy Corner in style. Lindy from Lush Floral Designs lent us her some gorgeous Bentwood chairs, and Hello Sukar organised a beautiful cake for them to share, surrounded by their family – who organised a little picnic underneath the wind sloped trees by the beach.
There is no love quite as exquisite, as old love.
There is nothing as beautiful to encounter, as the unity, love, and courage of family.
“Time is too slow for those who wait, too swift for those who fear, too long for those who grieve, too short for those who rejoice, but for those who love, time is eternity.”
